I call them yoga style hats,
they are the bagy knitted style hats that I my self have loved for so long.
so I decided to try to get some, and I found a producer in south east asia luckely!

so I made some in 3 colours; army/olive green, black & dark brown,
and they have getting great feedback and right away I got some orders in my webshop and also sold some in the boutique,
so now I am waiting for 2 new colours to arrive: coral pink and plum coloured ones!

I really enjoy having my small brand, even if it is far to much work for almost no money, it doesnt matter it is a great feeling and something I hopefully can keep on diong for a while.

so be prepared for the cold, yogic style ha ha

now and then I get questions about yoga and religion, both from people who are curious but also people who are a bit worried since they are within a certain religious tradition.

I have never been religous, and I have actually signed out from swedish church wich we are all automathicly signed into when borned and pay church tax etc.

but I think I have a long time feel drawn to religion and "ritual things" perhaps.
but if anything I consither my self to lean towards spirituality, and for me that is something everyone can be regardless of what religion you are into if any.
a journey towards learning about your real self your soul..
and you do this usually by practice self awarness, meditation and such things to develop a way to connect with a universal reality/cosmos etc, wich can be YOUR god I guess if you are religious.

the idea is commonly that you apply your god to your practice if you want to, so a lot of times yogis can talk about Divine but that can also be in generall for all Divine in your way of feeling & believing..

for example when many end classes with "namaste" - one sanscrit transaltion is:"I bow to the Divine in you, wich is also in me"

so.
yes, yoga can be used to deepend your religious practice, but yoga itself is not religion. sure it has a lot of symbolism from Hindu -buddhism etc, since it have developed from this area and probably many of the old great wise men who wrote the wise sanskrit texts that yoga has its background from were also within these religions.
but also have in mind that the yoga we do today "modern yoga" has got about 100 years on its shoulders only.
and most teachers do just few parts and actually only parts within the path "HathaYoga or some say HathaYoga is a branch of the path Raja Yoga".
so mostly we do asanas & pranayama.

then we do have the mantras, so the say is that a mantra is about the sound vibration, not the meaning of the actual words.
the words of sanscrit has also many translations, but some Hindus might also use the mantras more for the words since a lot of their gods are named in many mantras.
one branch of Yoga is BhaktiYoga - "yoga of devotion"
here you can find for example groups like "Hari Krishna devoties"
so they use yoga and its spiritual practice to deepen their faith towards Krishna, but it is not yoga it self that is their religion.

for me personally I use more of the peace mantras.
for one because I like the idea of peace within and around us.
but also just for the fact of not sing HinduGods names if people have other religions.

in my studio I have put Ganesha statues, and also AUM signs.
for me they are symbolic and also of course to get a nice feeling & athmosphere with a spiritual touch in my studio.
AUM stands for among other things "the sacred sound" the sound heard during creation "the big bang" etc
also the sound the monks chant in for example buddhism,
the sound vibration when chanting AUM [sometimes written as OM] has many theories but one is that if it is done correctly you connect with the ultimate vibration in cosmos.
some even say "Amen" is a kind of AUM : )
Ganesha for me symbolises the help since he is considered to be the "remover of all obstacles" and this in yoga perhaps mainly the obstacles in your spiritual practice..

so very generall things here and from the way I see it.
but all these things has so many meanings and there is a lot to read about them if anyone like to..

so anyway, all people are wellcome to my classes, and put what ever Ishvara / god symbol / lord into their practice.
but also have mutual respect to all others in the studio : )

from a mantra they use in Sivananda Ashram during Aarti Ceremony
"Jaya Jaya Arati Sadguru Natha, Sadguru Natha Sivananda
Jaya Jaya Arati Jesus Gurave, Moses Gurave, Buddha Gurave
Jaya Jaya Arati Mohammed Gurave, Laotse Gurave, Samasta Guru Bhyo Namah
Jaya Jaya Arati Venugopala"

saturday... sitting in the small boutique in my studio.
I had a nice 2h "HathaSivananda" class as usual this morning at 10am.
today was ten participants [12 is full at my place so quit good].
I am just sitting here and going thru in my head this las week.. so many ups and downs it feels like.

last weekend someone broke in during night time at the studio,  they bent up the aluminiium door and went inside..
luckely in all this missery it was probably just some drug addicts or something, they didn't take anything else except the cash we had, and also if not counting the door they didnät break anything.
just a lot o paper etc on the floor on their search for cash.
ususally we dont keep to much cash here but a few days earlier we sold our extra thick thai & shiatsu matress..

if they only knew, for us probably a 5 times bigger cost then the actual money they got. the locksmith with his weekend oncall duty prices, and now also the door company to fix the door..

so this week I felt a bit sad when already you struggle to have your own place and try to have a place for people to like, to relax and enjoy to be "gone from the real world" for a little while.. then stuff like this happends.. sad..

then in the start of the week we got some new yoga teachers interested in renting spots at our place, that is really great I love having more yogis here!

so maybe after the rain.. new things for future will appear now.
also some people have shown interest in renting our treatment room one day a week since now we we have 1 or 2 days that we can let someone new in. that would be nice. a chance to complement each other and widen our customer bas.

during this week even though I cancelled one class I had like a small record in total visitors for my classes I think, great!
it feels really good to be able to guide others into the yogic sphere on what ever level they feel like and are open for at the phase they are in life at the moment.

and during the end of the week when I had my only 60min short yogaclass at a gym where I teach at the end of the clas a man came to me, it was his first yoga at all, and he didn't know whot to expect.
and he said it felt so nice and he will be back, and his whole face and eyes shine with somekind of apprechiated look.
and then when he had praised my class and where about to leave he ended with a short statement in a true "pop idol jury" style when the artist are about to leave and they say something semi  loud as they where talking to them selves or something ha ha.
he said: "damn how pedagogic you are" at the sametime as he turned away for the exit of the room.

somethings just feels extra good, when they come suddenly unexpected even for the person saying it, just from nowhere, from the truth in their heart I guess..
it boosted me up anyway with a inner huge smile for a long time.

ooh also this week I made a very tasty nasigoreng/fried rice blackpepper veggie style for me ans Annikaone evening, that felt good aswell ha ha ha

now I will have a look at the "change flat" sites we are on to find a new common place to stay..

peace and love and let life flow and have positive thinking and things have a tendensy to solve in the end..

sorry, have been a bit to busy with many things lately, and my blog have not goten to much of my focus.
but now it is slowly getting back to "normal".

so the other week we re-arranged our shop at the studio.
since we brougnt back and also sent some products from our trip in India, it was extra fun to get up all the new things.
it is everything from AUM-incense holders, books, Cd's, new model of yoga pants, scarfs, handpainted pendants, ear-rings, small statues, note books etc..

also we got more organic juices again, and both of "our own" popular handrolled natural incense's.
the incenses actually have temple status because they are so good : )

and today we also finally had time to make our own eco-blends of muesli and porridge and pack them, also a thing peoplehave been asking fro the first few weeks since we opened after the summer.

here are som pics [not to sharp, from my phone]

so a shorter resumé of my 10day stay at the ashram in Germany.

when I arrived at the ashram after flying and riding with the train, I got picked up at the trainstation.
my first reaction in my mind when I saw this place was that it was SO big! it looked like a huge hotel complex somehow, and someone later said to me it was actually an old hospital-like building earlier. but I am not sure..
after a few days I realized it was actually even bigger with some more buildings and a lot of people sleeping in tents.. when I was there it was of course summertime so many have holiday, and it was about 500 guests/yogis/particapants there. and 120 people working there, some as karma yogis [volonteurs] and some as contracted staff members.

everythng was so "arranged" if compared to the ashram in India, or maybe better way to explain it "it was more westernized" and this is ofcourse natural since we have other resourses.

I liked beeing there but for me somehow it never gave me the right feeling or energy. it was sometimes a bit to light and a bit like a factory in the sence that it was so big and so many different courses there at the same time [wich is also great that they can offer so many things!].

in my doorm [wich was actually a room with 4 bunker beds] there was just 3-4 others staying, and they were all participating in a buddhist tantra course, so most of the days they had to be silent so my room was very quiet and they had gone to bed already every night when I came back from my last lecture of my course ha ha

and most sad in my point of view is that it was much less internationally adjusted then I had thought, so basicly I felt like a stranger in a german speaking ashram sometimes ha ha.
all the signs in german, al the information in german and all classes in german etc.
my course was led by a Swami english spoken, so the course said in English.
but then it turend out that only her lectures was in english [and with a german translater who transalted averything so it all took the double amount of time to go thru.
and then the actual asana practice was in german, luckely I have the experience and some german words are similar to english or swedish so I could join without to much trouble, and also when hearing some words many times you start to learn.. shenke=leg and so on.
after I asked they arraged a person comming to most classes to translate if I didn get it.
so all and all okey, but you miss out on many small details that different yoga teacher individuals teach, the small things you sometimes get inspired of so that was a bit sad.
they should have been much more clear in the information about this fact that just parts were in english.
I was the only none german person in my course and we were about 20 participants.

I did learn some, and it was great to see the differences they did compared to what I am used to.

I have to say that this ashram in their yogic practice in many ways actually felt more sensere then in India ashram.

so my 10 day ATTC course was for sure okey, and the whole trip there was of course an lifetime experience that I am very happy that I did.
but it was not realy what I have expected.. but that is often the case when going for the first time to a place..

here are some pictures:

1. the main ashram building

2. the yoga hall [Lakshmi hall if I remember correctly]

3. my bed in the "doormitary"

4. my last satsang, it was sent live on internet you can see Swami Atma on stage.

yesterday I launched Online booking on my site, and the first day already 10 of my participants had registered.

I spent some time this last weekend to make the booking system fit into my site both in size and in colours, and during this week their support man will help me with some last details to make it even a bit extra good looking : )

it feels great, I feel this was the right time to do this and that it will in a while be very apprechiated.
basicly it is a good service for my students, a place where they can get an overview of all their bbokings, they can see how many spots are free on a class if you are not sure you can make it from work or so.

and this will probably save some time for me aswell after a while, since now they can all book and un-book themselves whenever they want to more or less.

it seams they are all happy about this new possibility, I have talked about it on my classes last days and I have goten good feedback just for the actual idea even before poeple had tried it.
it is very simple so not to much work, it takes 1 minute maybe to register, then you activate it from an e-mail you get.
but for sure some wont like it. I do have some participants that are not that into new modern technique things, but they can continue booking by text-messages or regular e-mails of course, it is not a must to use the online booking system ha ha.

AUM Shanti
